Neo-Pangaea will present works by internationally renowned artists; including Rasheed Araeen, Roderick Buchanan, Guillermo Gómez-Peña , Adnan Charara and Sama Alshaibi, which visually document the process of cultural integration. The artworks explore ideas connected to migration, identity, displacement, adaptation and illustrate personal experiences. These artists work in a variety of media including film, installation, painting and literature reflecting the diverse nature of the artworks themes.

Cultures today, however different, all share common traits. Whilst we may belong to different social, ethnic, or religious groups and celebrate different events, pray to different gods or communicate in different languages, we are all human.

This exhibition explores the idea of a new Pangaea, the ancient Greek word for the super continent in existence 200 million years ago. It is no longer a geographical location; this reinvented Pangaea is a metaphor for cultural hybridity in modern society.
